Arkkitehti pitäisi siis löytää. Mutta mistä? Löysimme Tuusulan nettisivuilta linkin Tuusulan, Keravan ja Järvenpään yhteiseen Antura-palveluun, josta voi etsiä suunnittelijoita ja työnjohtajia. Etsimme palvelusta sopivalta tuntuvaa arkkitehtia. Valintaperusteina oli referensseinä mainitut puurakenteiset omakotitalot, kohtuullisen läheinen sijainti ja aina yhtä tarkka mutu-tuntuma. Apuna oli myös Suomen Arkkitehtiliiton Pientalojen suunnittelijoita 2009 -julkaisu (EDIT 26.1.2010: ei näytä enää olevan saatavilla tuosta linkistä, ehkä SAFAn sivuilta löytyy uusi), sekä Arkkitehtitoimistojen liiton kirjoitukset aiheesta.
Tutustuimme myös suunnittelijoiden ilmoittamiin nettisivuihin ja jätimme pois kaikki kalliilta vaikuttavat trendi-toimistot.

Anturasta käsiimme jäi kahdeksan arkkitehtiä / arkkitehtitoimistoa, joille lähetimme sähköpostilla alustavan kyselyn. Viestissämme kerroimme perustiedot hankkeesta ja kysyimme mahdollisuuksia ja kiinnostusta osallistua projektiimme. Yksi kahdeksasta ei vastannut tiedusteluumme lainkaan, yksi ilmoitti ettei enää tee suunnittelutöitä ja yhdellä olisi ollut aikaa paneutua meidän projektiimme vasta ensi kesänä. Jäljelle jäi siis viisi kiinnostunutta ehdokasta, jotka kaikki vaikuttivat sähköpostien perusteella ihan varteenotettavilta. Toiset kertoivat jo alustavia hintatietojakin ja arviot ko. suunnittelutehtävän kestosta liikkuivat melko yksimielisesti sadan tunnin molemmin puolin.

Kerroimme taustatietoja itsestämme ja toiveistamme, lähetimme tekemämme tilaohjelman ja sovimme tapaamiset kaikkien kanssa. Kaksi ehdokasta tapasimme viime viikolla ja loput kolme tapaamme tällä viikolla. Arkkitehdin valinnasta lisää, kun olemme tavanneet kaikki ehdokkaat.
